One Episcopalian to another: Where did my Church Go?

This little question is whispered between faithful church attending Episcopalians more than we know. Maybe before the service, maybe afterwards, maybe at the coffee hour, maybe in a friend's home. Every one who asks this question wishes for some type of clarity on where their church has gone. They are not necessarily talking about the church they are currently attending. They are really asking about the church they grew up in, the church they were baptized in, where they received Confirmation and took their first communion. It was a safe place, a place where you were taught right from wrong, where the Rector was kindly and concerned about you. And it was a place where you felt that you were like everyone else and everyone else was like you.

And now you don't have that feeling. You read of things going on in your church that you would never have ever spoken of. Your church supports abortion, homosexuality, same-sex marriage, and condemns you if you don't support them too.

So you ask, what happened to my church?

Herewith, is a little history about what happened to your church.
