Now I bet that is a brain teaser. After all, if you have been following the Dollar against the Euro or the Yen recently, it has been like an elevator ride into the sub-basement of the sub-basement.
So, is the Dollar actually rising against another country's currency? Well yes it is!! None other than the North Korean won. And why is the NK won in such bad shape? Well, according to Pravda it is "their inefficient economy and their very expensive nuclear weapons program".
In other words they are spending a lot more than they are producing and now their currency is not worth anything because they have to print a lot of it to pay their bills.
Any of that sound the least bit familiar?
