Homeland Security: Domestic Terrorists the Worst

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says terrorists who are U.S. citizens or live in the country legally and plot against the U.S. are just as big of a concern as international terrorists. See the article here.

And who did she say they were watching last year: people with Ron Paul bumper stickers, Iraq War veterns, people involved in single causes like Abortion, in other words, ordinary Americans. Hmmmm, can't wait to see the new list.

Google to enlist NSA to help it ward off cyberattacks

Supposedly the NSA (National Security Agency) and Google are going to team up so that NSA can help Google figure out how to fend off cyber attacks from China according to this Washington Post story.

Given the rising concern over what is termed Cyber Warfare, there is likely a national defense angle to this type of cooperation. But one just has to wonder what such a partnership could lead to if the government had an interest in taking it deeper. Not too unlike many of the concerns people had about the Patriot Act under George Bush.

TSA: Keeping us safe?

Green Beret, turned reporter, Michael Yon returning from Afganistan was arrested at the Seattle Airport because he would not tell TSA security how much money he made! As he said, the questions from TSA didn't seem to have anything to do with security.

Customs officials claim they have a lot of latitude on the questions they can ask and if subjects do not answer those questions, then the options left to Custom's start to shrink.

Seems like they might have asked such questions of the "Fruit of Kaboom Bomber".

Constitutional and Security Crisis

Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Nebraska) has bravely dug his feet in on the current healthcare debate in the Senate over the issue of taxpayer funded abortions. His is a critical vote that the Obama administration needs in order to get the monstrosity of healthcare "reform" passed.

So, in the way of buying votes such as they used with Mary Landrieu (D-Louisiana), what goodies are the Obama folks holding out to Sen. Nelson?

Nothing of the sort! For Sen. Nelson, Nebraska, and the country, the Obama Administration is threatening to close a Strategic Air Base. Offutt Base is the home base of the US Strategic Command.

Offutt also provides some 10,000 jobs for Nebraskans. If Nelson stands his ground, will Offutt really go on the base closing list? Is the Obama administration really stupid enough to follow through on such a threat? Will the military let them do it? Would we the people really let them do it?

This looks like a darn good time to call the Obama bluff and let's see their cards.
